Dr. Carleitta Paige-Anderson first arrived in Richmond as an undergraduate student at Virginia Union University where she is now on the faculty and heads The Center for Undergraduate Research, providing leadership for all undergraduate research and creative inquiry endeavors. Dr. Paige–Anderson research focus is bacteria that causes infection and disease in humans, such as tuberculosis which kills approximately 2 million people a year. Carleitta earned her doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology at Wake Forest University, completed a post-doctoral research appointment at the Johns Hopkins University, and has served as a faculty-lead for Department of Homeland Security Summer Research teams and was a senior a Senior Fulbright Scholar two years ago at the Universitas Airlangga in Surbaya, Indonesia.
